Nintendo has dropped yet another a Nintendo Direct, this time providing more info on the upcoming Nintendo Switch/2 game Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. As a huge Mii fan and someone with "Mii" in my username, I am looking forward into getting the game.
The Direct begins with creating a Mii resident from scratch. There are more style options for hair, eyes, mouth, and even ears. You can also select your Mii's gender as nonbinary! More voice customization options (6 tones instead of 4 from Tomodachi Life) for your Miis. You can also face-paint your Miis, which was not present in the Switch version of Miitopia.
You can now grab your Miis and bring them closer to another Mii, a nice callback to Mii Channel on the Nintendo Wii. You can now dictate which topics your Miis can discuss with each other. Miis can also bump into each other (and fall in love that way apparently).
Food mart and clothing store have names now--Fresh Kingdom and Where & Wear. Mii News is revamped to MNN (Mii News Network). Home supply store is now T&C Reno. Night market is now Marketplace. Photo Studio is now Foto-Tomo, a nice naming callback to Miifotos from the discontinued mobile game Miitomo.
You can also decorate your island with more greenery if a Mii suggests it. A new store, Quik Build, allows you to purchase island furniture and greenery. Landscaping, a feature similar in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, enables the player to customize their own island to their own imagination, opening up more customization opportunities.
Palette House is a new shop that allows you to create imaginary pets and customize pretty much anything, including exterior items. Miis can now offer to move into another Mii's residence, and up to 8 Miis can live in a single residence. I have been dying for this feature for YEARS.
Overall, I enjoyed the Direct. A lot of new features look exciting, and pre-existing features from Tomodachi Life got a major glow-up. I was hoping that you could customize what food and clothing items your Mii loves, given that this upcoming game is continuing the RNG factor. I can't wait to give my Mii yellow hair without the need of a hairspray. I'll be living the dream on April 16th!
